It contains many useful tips on one interface: edit exif, view exif, remove exif, and mark special photo. Using it you can easily manage and edit photo metadata information on your Mac computer. It supports all possible meta information in a wide variety of image formats. Metadata records supported by the software include image dimensions, title, resolution, camera model, location, shutter speed, ISO, date and time, ownership information, descriptions, thumbnails, and more.ĪnyEXIF is the most powerful application to help you edit exif data on Mac. Photoshop, for example, may add new metadata such as the version number or author as you make edits to the image.Īside from that, EXIF data can also be manually edited in specialized app such as AnyEXIF. When you take a photo with a device (say, an iPhone), metadata is created. We will not distinguish between the general file metadata and EXIF data for the purposes of this tutorial. Images have information called EXIF data. It's short for Exchangeable Image File Format, and it was first developed by the Japan Electronic Industries Development Association (JEIDA) in 1996. Exif data is a standard for storing metadata in a digital image. If you think this resource contain inappropriate content, please report to webmaster. Lens filters would be a really great addition as well. It would be a little easier than completely, manually adding every lens and camera. It would be awesome if the developers could create a database of cameras and lenses, so that when you start to type an item's name, a drop-down would appear and allow you to choose from cameras/lenses that match the search term. You can add lenses, bodies, and film types to a catalog in the app, and then drag and drop them to images to add that data to the current image(s), truely excellent! In my opinion the developers could easily launch it as is because it works significantly better than any of the other EIGHT programs I tried. You can also batch edit metadata (like camera make and model, as well as artist/photographer name). It's absolutely crazy that there are no other half-decent options out there. You're able to easily edit Exif AND Metadata in batches, which is a must for a program like this that frequently deals with hundreds or thousands of pictures. I couldn't believe it took me so long to find something that actually did what I needed. I'm surprised development seems to have so long ago stopped, and more surprised nothing better has come along since.Ībsolutely phenomenal Exif editing software. It's already great but it could be truly excellent (and more stable). Film shooting continues to grow and there is most certainly a market for this sort of application with such ease of use and straightforward integration with EXIFTool. I'm sure a paid version would go over well. Would love an updated version from the author (or to see them appear at all again). JEXIFToolGUI is another very good utility for the tasks but I find it slower for my workflow and a bit overkill.ĪnalogExif contains bugs and has become more of challenge to use in recent years but none that I've not been able to workaround in some way. It has not been updated since 2013, which is roughly 2 years before I started using it, but it is now 2022 and I still use it the most, even despite better metadata capability within Lightroom and workflows offered from NegativeLabPro etc. ![]() I've tried quite a number Exif editors and tools to simplify film scans and related exif/iptc etc data and this one is the best combination of simple/straighforward/fast.
